Outings/Adventures

A long weekend

I’m 3 days into my 4 days off. So far my days off have been alright.

On Sunday I got a text asking me if I wanted to buy an xbox360 Elite with a controller, 3 games and a HDMI lead for £110. I told George and he basically screamed in my face BUY IT! So I gave Sam £30 on Wednesday and then the rest on Friday. I have to say I was a bit unsure about buying it because I’ve never played one before but after playing it for an hour and a half today, I’m actually glad I bought it. On Friday I took a game George had hired from Blockbuster back and hired out Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed for myself to try on the xbox – Every race I did I came first so either it’s easier than the first one that I had for the PS3 or I’ve become brilliant at it lol. The three games I got with it were Need for Speed Undercover, Full Auto and Stuntman Ignition. I think I have NFS Undercover for the PS3 so I might get rid of that one and I played Stuntman Ignition but I really don’t like it so I might get rid of that one too. Last night I bought a double battery charger pack, Fable 2 for myself and Gears of War for George. I was a bit unsure about buying Fable for myself because I didn’t think I would like it and only really bought it because it looked good and it was £10 but I’ve been playing it for an hour an a half this morning and I’m really getting into it.

Yesterday, George and I went out with my parents for the day. We started off at The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight in Coningsby which was alright but it was £6 per person to go and look in the hanger at a few planes but we didn’t – I thought that was a rip off. Then we went to The Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre which was about 45 minutes down the road from the BBMF. We had something to eat and drink in the little NAAFI/Cafe place and then my Dad paid £7 for each of us to go and have a look around the hangers and various other buildings that had artifacts and stuff in. In the Hanger was a Lancaster Bomber and Dakota as well as vehicles from the war era and loads of things in glass cabinets they’ve found when they’ve done digs. We were able to walk around the whole place and went into the watchtower which is apparently haunted. They had dummies dressed up in RAF uniforms and I kept expecting them to turn around and talk lol. Me and my Mum ended up walking around together and went into another building that had a button and when you pressed it, a light behind the glass would go on and reveal a 1940s living room with a wireless radio, sewing machine table and a poster on the wall of Winston Churchill. Then in more buildings there were more artifacts. There was a pill box bunker too and then a trench type bunker. I’ve always been interested in both the world wars and after seeing all the buildings there, I realize that being alive during that time would have been pretty scary. I definitely want to go to more sites like that. I wanted to buy a bullet keyring but ended up spending the money I had on 2 bacon butties for me and George.

Once we’d had a couple of hours at the Aviation Heritage centre we ended up going to Skegness. We stood watching the RNLI lifeboat go and tow a yacht back to shore. We went for a wander and ended up eating again, this time chips, or in mine and my Dad’s case cheesy chips lol. George paid for us both to have slushies, he had an orange and cola one and I had a raspberry, lemon & lime and strawberry and it was so freakin’ gorgeous. Mum had decided after being there about 2 hours that she’d had enough walking, which so I had and my Airwalk trainers were making my heels feel like I had a blister and we ended up going back to the car. Dad drove home via Ingoldmells and we got stuck at the traffic lights and were able to see people on the rollercoasters and the hyperblast ride – you sit on a seat and it shoots you straight up to the top and then back down. George was asleep in the car on the way home and about half way home I must have nodded off because I was shook by George when we got back to my Parent’s house.

I had a cup of tea then decided I should go and do my horse’s. Pretty good timing I say ’cause they didn’t have much water left. I filled their water up and then went back to my Parent’s to pick George up and we went home. Well, I say we went home, we stopped at Asda and got some munchies and I picked up the games and charging stuff for the xbox.

Today I think we’re going to my parent’s for a BBQ and then George and I were meant to be going to watch Captain America together but a friend seems to wanna tag along and has said he’ll pay for tickets if we (or should I say I) pay for popcorn and crap. I’m not sure what I wanna do, it does seems fair but this is my only long weekend for another 5 weeks so yeah. I’ll probably say yes though.

Anyway work is shit. My team leader is an uber bitch and treats me like utter shite. The combination of shitty soap and water has turned my hands dry, hard and really sore. The owner of the factory told us at the induction that hand cream wasn’t allowed and neither was gloves and that the soap has moisturiser in it..really? well why has my skin gone like this?! I paid £40 on Friday in The Body Shop for a bunch of Hemp products to try and relieve the pain. Even though it’s working slightly I’m still in pain and my hands have started to become numb every so often – I had only been playing on the xbox for about half an hour earlier and my hands had just gone dead and I wasn’t even gripping the control pad! I need to get out of there before the rest of my health begins to deteriorate.  I have a few jobs saved on 2 job apps I have on my phone so I’ll give them a call tomorrow and hope they say I can start right away.

I’ve set my other blog domain up and have written an entry. I’ve decided to use it as a site that people offline can visit, meaning I can keep this one secret. I don’t think a few people would be pleased if they read stuff I’d written about them.

I also have had to put the VPS purchase off a few weeks because I have still not managed to get myself out of my overdraft and every week it seems that I’m spending more so for the moment everything will stay put. I think I’ve already spent my weeks wages this weekend already lol.

Oh and I’ve become a Super Moderator at Veracity (: I never thought I’d stand a chance but I applied anyway and yeah, I got it lol. If you’re looking for a forum to join that’s busy and full of amazing people then Veracity is the place to be.
